Agree entirely. M3 GTR looks quite a weapon in his very capable hands. As good as my DVD of Alzen in the race 996TT at the ring.

Haven't seen the Alzen video for download anywhere, but you can buy the DVD from the link in this thread:

errrm, unless you R Hans Stuck DONT learn the lines from this vid it's just too quick. A much slower lap will show you that the bends are much tighter than good ole Hans makes them look!!!!!
Oh and then theres the bunps and cambers

Am I being stupid here - is this 'video' a physical videotape or is it on the intarweb?

I don't own a video recorder but have plenty of bandwidth, and would like to see this!

It was a DVD....but I think it was ltd edition. But now has been released on the net.

You used to be able to buy it from here.

www.renn.tv/shop/

They still have copies of the Scheid Motor Sport one. For me this is by far the best as it shows very close racing action rather than a car weaving in and out of slower cars.

He's certainly got the hang of that M3. Really neat warm up lap. Any footage of a quick one?

A couple of bends that he took flat out there - chapeau! I know they were only gentle curves, but at 190 mph (guessing?) that takes some balls!

Yes, great stuff.

However, this reminded me of some Isle of Man TT footage that Men & Motors shows sometimes. Now that is barking mad, I just don't know how they do it and I always thought I was reasonably quick on a bike, but those guys jeeeesuss.

Wow. All the good words have been chronically overused these days, but Awesome is getting there...

BMW ought to show this to the boo-boys (like me, embarrassingly) whose main experience of 3 series BMWs involves crap driving, arrogance and jackets hanging in the rear windows. That is one incredible piece of machinery (obviously the driver's pretty handy as well )

Interestingly, very little oversteer, even when the impression was that the wheels were off the ground or hopping about. Even braking into the bends didn't seem to unsettle it, though that may be driver skill.

Awesome does not begin to describe that lap. I guess he has been there before

BTW, the time for that lap (Short F1 circuit + Nords) is 8m19s. Staggering, especially considering the slight traffic and yellow flags at Brunchen, where presumably he backed off a little.

That was pole position for one of the short (2 hours IIRC) 2004 VLN races. And he looked very happy with it, and of course went on to win :-)

what a fantastic video. makes the drive home seem a little mundane. what is humbling is the speed with which he caught and overtook traffic which seemed to include s 993RS and a 996 GT2. (difficult to be sure, bit of a blur)
anyone know how to get this link to work for a mac. I posted it to my stepdad but he cant manage to get it to work
or do I just tell him to buy a pc like everyone else on the planet
