Hi all,

I had Carplay retrofitted to my Golf last week, and I've just noticed an annoyance with it.

When connecting the iPhone to the car, it disconnects all Bluetooth hands-free connectivity. Not a problem, you might think, but I have two phones. They happily co-exist on Bluetooth and will both receive calls, and after a tap on the screen, I can make a call from either.

Has anyone else come across this and found a way of disabling the 'feature', so I can keep one on Bluetooth whilst the other is plugged in?

Cheers.

Nope. That's how it works.

I wish I'd asked the question beforehand now. For the money, and what it offers versus what it has taken away, I'd not have bothered.

Thanks for the quick response.

I really like CarPlay, mainly for decent audiobook functionality which is lacking from almost everything else. Also I find Siri better than the built in voice recognition and apple maps surprisingly good.

I can see the annoyance with loss of Bluetooth functionality when plugged in. I'm guessing Apple simply didn't think of that usage case, or decided it was too rare to worry about.

I'd like to see more applications, improv, enters to Apple Music and a Qobuz app!
