Lotus Esprit V8's

Anyone have any experience of these?

I've heard that they lack a certain something in the sound dept? Quick yes, but no tingle down the spine soundtrack?

Or am I talking out of my buttocks again?

flat plane crank V8, so yes they dont sound as throaty as the old Rover ones

Savaloy - get a sports exhaust. The lotus system crackles, pops and bangs on overrun. Its a great sound. Lots of character. Good in tunnels

If you like LOUD exhausts, then go for straight pipes (e.g. quicksilver) no silencer, reduced weight, more power and quicker response too. See www.hybinette.com/lotus for some pics of the quicksilvers.

After market exhausts are also made for the esprit by Moto-Concept, Tubi, Stebro, D&T, and probably some others too i've forgotten about.

Its really don't know WHY lotus press office persist in giving journalists esprits with the boring std exhaust on them. If only they'd fitted all the press cars with sports exhausts then we would get this "its fast but sounds crap" rubbish bandied about by people who've no experience of the car but who've read a few magazine articles...

totally agree...utterly bizarre decision by them.....almost as odd that Vauxhall managed to release the old vectra with seats bad enough that EVERYONE complained about them....surely they do user acceptance testing? dont they listen?!!
