I know lots of people don't like "tribute bands", I do.
If you like Billy Joel you should give this how a try.
Elio Pace is clearly a highly talented piano player and he can sing too. He talks a lot about the history of the songs and the way the music was written and puts it over brilliantly. He plays with a full band, no backing tapes here and they've played with some famous people too. The saxophonist has played with Tom Jones and he doesn't hire mugs and Elio has played with Brian May, Martha Reeves, Katie Melua and loads of others.

Go and see him, you won't regret it.

oops, that should say songbook, I have no idea what a sonfbook is.

Holy thread resurrection! I went to see Elio Pace and Billy Joel Songbook last night. This was my wife’s idea of course, and it was a brilliant evening. I was only vaguely aware of Billy Joel as being a singer song writer with some good hits. But now, due to Elio, who spends a lot of time talking about Joel during the show, I can see that he’s almost certainly the best!

Elio and his band are superb musicians. Well worth a watch.
