Optical wireless sender/receiver
Discussion
I recently purchased a new sony bravia 4k android tv which has an optical out on it.
The problem is the TV is mounted on the other side of the room where as the Sky HD box and cinema system are adjacent to each other which are optically connected for digital sound.
As the TV has apps that run 4k content I need to use the tv speakers for the sound.
Is there a device out there that I can transmit the optical connection from the TV wireless to the input on my cinema system ?
No hardwired solutions - cables are buried in the skirting/walls and concrete floor. I'm not decorating again.

Yes, but not cheap and probably not to your satisfaction. Nolan TRX HD Bluetooth for example. Mixed reviews.
You'll have a significant audio delay to deal with, which will be tricky. I'd go as far as suggesting this idea is just bad all round and won't work out, but hopefully somebody will be along to prove me wrong.
Is there any possibility that the HDMI inputs/outputs on TV and amp are 2-way? Or an existing cable could be used to pull another through? Pick a cable that already runs the route you want. Tie a dozen strong strings to it, and pull. Then use 1 string to pull that cable back. Use a second to pull your audio cable. Leave the rest for future or in case one breaks. I'm sure you've thought of that already though.
Does the amp support 4k sources and output? Does the TV support 4k input? Then you might be able to get the app you are using on the smart TV (dumb really, aren't they?) on, e.g., a Kodi box or sort of media PC instead of running it on the TV directly. Then the amp can split audio and picture without a strange input/output backwards loop from using your display as a source.
Some actual model numbers of the TV and cinema system might help.

The cinema system is traditional all in one systems not an amp - SONY BDV-E3100 5.1
TV is a 4k - SONY - BRAVIA KD55X8509C
No way of pulling any cables in (spark to trade so no all the fishing techniques) the cables are buried in a wall/behind skirting’s running round a bay window etc. I would need to pop all skirtings, dig out , re plaster, and wall paper – not a chance I’m doing that just to get some sound from the apps.
I'm just looking for a quick fix if there is anything on the market.
I also have kodi on a droid stick which I use for streaming 4k content and other apps

OK, so... thinking...
The Sky box is plugged into the home theater by optical for sound?
And then sky box is also plugged into the TV by a long HDMI?
If so, redirect sound from the sky box along the HDMI and then move the home theater box nearer the tv and use the optical out from the TV as an input for the home theater.
That should get you proper 5.1 for whatever is playing on the TV at the time.
Is that possible?

That sounds like a good solution but the wiring for the cinema System is also buried etc. meaning relocating the cinema system isn't possible. The Sky box is plugged into the home theater by optical for sound?

If it has an hdmi out forget optical try one of these, not cheap but does what it says on the box.

Nyrius ARIES Home HDMI Digital Wireless Transmitter & Receiver for HD 1080p Video Streaming, Cable box, Satellite, Bluray, DVD, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Laptops, PC
I had the same issue this was a solution. Can occasionally search for its own signal which is annoying but on the whole works well. However because of this I have decided to reroute cabling and use the thing to tx to the patio equipment.

Won't solve the issue with syncing the audio to the picture. There will be massive lag in the audio. I'm almost sure wireless won't work in this scenario, regardless of the input/output connectors, because you can't delay the TV picture to match the time taken for the audio to get to the speakers via wireless encoding.https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B005H3AU1Y/ref...

The problem here is you only have one HDMI connection on the home cinema system.
You should be able to send audio using Audio Return Channel from the TV to the home cinema system. You could then use a wireless HDMI transmitter to get picture and sound from the Sky box to the TV, with the TV then sending sound back via ARC to the home cinema system. The home cinema system should allow a delay to be set so you can get the lipsync right.
I'd buy a cheap long HDMI cable just to make sure this set up will work.
