I stumbled upon this website today and it's been keeping me amused. It seems to be a social network for whisky lovers and the tasting notes section is rather amusing. I'm not an expert by any stretch of the imagination, and maybe I'm revealing my lack of knowledge here, but some of the posts are mental. I suppose specialist conversations are bound to seem slighty mad to an outsider but here are a few examples that raised my eyebrows:

Bruichladdich Rocks
"Let it open up and when you first sip it, CHEW it. You will thank me later."

An Cnoc
"Very watery mouthfeel. I get some banana cream, honey, pecan, grass, Frosted Flakes, milk, and apple vinegar. These build up to a crescendo of Indian spices."

Ardbeg
"It's more savoury than I expected it to be. But then the sweetness breaks through mid-palate. Like sunshine. On an overcast day. Pineapples."

Octomore
"Smoky and heavy pig in soy sauce over a bonfire, coated in very heavily salted sea-weed."

There's more than a hint of Troy Queef in most of the posts. Have a look and enjoy. http://www.connosr.com/
