Well, we're two months in! How are you doing?

I don't normally adhere to the resolutions lark. But this year I thought I'd do something about the usual *cough*-*cough*-forty-*cough*-something weight and fitness stuff.

Given myself a target by mid July.

Was struggling in January. Going to the gym, cutting out unnecessary troughing sessions. Didn't know how I was going to keep motivated.

Anyway, I'm quite surprised to find I'm on target! (Between 4 and 5 Kilos down already.)

OK - if you think that NYRs are a pile of poo, you don't need to tell the rest of us

Well decided to get fit last September, still going to the gym 6 months on 3-5 times a week depending on other commitments.

I actually feel bad if I go less than 5 times a week, for all that its very slow progress and I push myself quite hard.

I lost 3 kilos in one week last week, sitting on my backside doing nothing. 57kg down to 54kg. On digital scales.

So in my opinion, sod the gym. Just wait for a good week!

she says, starting on her 3rd chocolate muffin...

As for gyms, still going well, 2-3 times a week for 5 months, with the odd hiccup (last week not once), though still trying and reaping the benefits.

Best decision I ever made.

About 1lb away from 4.5 stone now.

That was since early Nov, mind.

The PT sessions are really helping though.

Think yourself fit, its the easiest way.

Just say to yourself

'I am lovely'

15 reps, 3 sets of that a day and you'll feel great!

Ah - I guess it's a mixture of youth and genetics, and a wee amount of stress.

Have always been fairly skinny. Although now I'm noticing I'm starting to get a little less 'toned' so to speak. So I go to the gym once a month now.

Put 1kg back on yesterday though. And I suspect the muffins will be a contributing factor to the result of tonight's weigh in!!

she says, looking at 4th muffin and deciding against it

Must apologise for the poor joke on the Notts night out Greg. It didn't come out the way it was meant

Well done, I wish I had the will power. I'm fed up with going up a jean size

Can't remember that, Neil. Was it funny?

Thanks mate. Am going out clothes shopping on Saturday for several pairs of jeans and several new belts - jeans are about 8 inches too large around the waist now and belts up to last hole (were on first when I started out).

It *can* be done.

I wanted to lose weight and get fitter so i joined the gym, started playing 5 aside football twice a week and started the weight watchers points diet. I was then 20 years old at 5ft 10" weighing 15 stone, i now weigh 11 1/2 a year later and happy as larry.

I thought so.

You were saying that you can now wear a watch again after losing several stone. So I chirpped in "What, you lost it all off your wrist?"

I know, I know....

I'm determined to not go up another size. Cutting out the booze, snacks, chocolate. eating more fruit and fresh veg. And also walking to work (don't laught, I don't DO walking!) - did it for the first time this morning. Only took half-an-hour at a brisk pace. Thought I'd never make it but no harm done, apart from bloody freezing ears!

I appear to be the exact opposite of you guys!

I'm skinny as hell, and I've been wanting to tone myself up for a long while - so I eventually joined the gym at the end of Dec.

I've now been going for a constant 3 x per week since I first started and since I got my new split program from my trainer, I've been going 5 x per week for the last three weeks!

I'm pleased with the results already, and as of last night I'm going to be pushing myself even harder now....

Come on baby! Eye of the Tiger!

Edit: It's was less of a new year's resolution for me and more of me being sick of not feeling good about myself in my own body

quickest way to become fit and lose weight is to become single. sadly it is working for me - probably 1 stone down in the last 2 months...

My NYR was to drink less, to save money as I'm a student. Thoroughly suceeded in that, down to no more than 3 pints a week now, and every so often a bottle of wine as well.

With regards to going to the gym. The weekend before last I decided that I'd had enough of being slightly round and wanted to lose some weight but above all get fitter. Since then I have been to the gym everyday (except Sunday when it was closed). I'm not bother to check the weight, but I feel SO much better for it, have much more energy already.

I said that I would spend less time on Pistonheads and more time working.

Damn...
