By eck it's quick. Totally different animal to my GTS (not surprisingly) I even get a free umbrella and Silverstone trip to go with the shafting from the OPC (who were great)

Congrats . More pics and experiences shared. I have a 991 Gts and love it but would welcome your views on differences.

Sorry I've only had the boxster and cayman GTS, not the 991.....

I've not had it on track, that would be good going, however, the turn in seems razor sharp. I like the steering feel, a lot better then on the GTS. The extra power is really something and it has such presence. Its almost as long as my lwb van and lower then my friends micro.

The grip at the moment seems never-ending, which is both good and bad, and it's a lot more firm then my Cayman was.

nice car;
out of interest which OPC?

the 991 Gt3's are so useable - I've put 6K miles on mine in just over 6 months !

6k, you go for it, mate. Thats what i love, they are so usable. Even for nipping out for a quick shop I get tempted to use mine, just put off by the fact that its a short trip, that GT3's apparently do not like and of course those damn disrespectful car park users, ""crash , bang , wallop""..

Lovely car, very similar to mine biggrin In about 9k miles it'll be just about run in. Was at the Swindon 718 launch night, so probably saw you eyeing it up, yours not mine laugh I got parked out of the way smile

White is a great colour, but needed something to give mine a lift.

Also bought mine from the same dealership smile

I did first see it at the 718 night, however I never looked at it because I instantly dismissed it as too expensive. I was eyeing up a cheaper 991 to run alongside the boxster. Then two days later as I was driving to the dealer I had a brain fart and realised if I got rid of the boxster I could get the gt3. 30minutes later I bought it

It's been lovee ever since.

I like the sticker on yours. Where did you get it from?

Glad you love the car, it only gets better. Mine makes me smile just getting it out of the garage smile

The stripe is the standard Porsche item, the dealership got it put on, just before my Le Mans trip last year. Had the stripe extended round the spoiler and down to the rear bumper, as I didn't like the way you could see where the spoiler stripe ended when looking in the rear view mirror, terrible OCD on my part biggrin

This is what it looks like from the rear.

Lucky lucky man! I'm not jealous at all, its such a lovely car. What did you come from 981 GTS or 991 GTS?

I am still hunting for the perfect one for me.

Short answer is neither. At the time I placed the order mid 2013, I was working outside the UK, so wasn't the owner of a car and didn't have a long Porsche history with the particular dealer, so wasn't a VIP customer.

I just got very very lucky.

For me it's just perfect, and use it at every opportunity .... Even if it is just running to the shops, but was particularly good fun doing Le Mans and a Euro tour with Mrs G later in the year, will be doing a Scottish tour later this year ... It's what GT cars are build for .... Grand Touring smile (IMHO, naturally) wink
