This caught my eye on eBay:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/GINETTA-G26-KIT-CAR-MK4-...

£4,975 starting price strikes me as more than ambitious for an unbuilt G26. I have never seen a completed and registered one sell for more than £1,000.

Well, it is a 'barn find' so (if we are to take our lead from the classic car world) that means it's price is inflated 10 fold wink

despite its practically an unmolested and new kit, those cars in the usual "well-used" state, but with V5c and maybe some months mot, will fetch not more than 300 to 800 pound.

What are the chances of finding a Cortina to base it on?

I haven't seen a Sierra for years, and that was the Cortina's replacement.

You know that's highly unlikely to be 100% true even if we accept it's not deliberately misleading.

I'd also wonder if it will ever get passed an IVA test - it might never get on the read legally.

Not much on a Cortina that can't be easily sourced elsewhere, though.

Not fitting the Pinto and 4-speed gearbox would be a definite improvement.

You mean all those ads for kit cars which are always "95% finished, just needs....... to complete" may not be totally accurate yikes

you dont need a complete cortina only some major components which you should get at fleebay: cortina (or similr) rear axle, cortina crossmember incl. front suspension and brakes, cortina dash

but watching the auction i guess all those parts are already included.

If you don't sell at £4995, what do you do? Increase the price to a ludicrous £9975 of course!
