Greetings, There is word that the new gantries being installed on the M27 are being fitted with gantry gatsos. Apparently this has been confirmed by a friend of my parents who is a copper in the area. Trouble is I dont trust the information and generally think its a load of scaremongering crap. There is no k/ka-band being emitted there and no sign of strips in the road. I have not seen any housings similar to that of M25 gantry gatsos.

Mungo I know this area is your patch, wondering if you or anyone else may be able to shed some light on this.

The rumor is that the cameras are set to 76mph and are already in place

That trip threshold can't be genuine

10% + 2mph so 76mph is outside the guidelines. Then again they are only guidelines which means the powers that be can set them to go off at 71mph if they feel like it!

I did notice they were laying purple ducting along the hardshoulder between the gantry's on the M27, which is the colour code for communications cabling.

No idea what they are fitting. My parents are convinced the system is already in place on the current matrix gantries. This is complete crap due to the lack of any signals or speed measuring strips, or apparent cameras for that matter. If they do fit specs my snooper will be there waiting to record it. From what I have seen they stick out like a sore thumb with that stupid scary logo on all the mounting poles
