Does anyone have any contact to check the history of a Porsche via its chassis number? I know I can get it VIN decoded easily on line, but if anyone can check the service history?

Looking to buy a car.

Thanks

Hi there is no way of checking service history, without contacting all dealers that have worked on the car, as every dealer group has its own operating system, which is not linked to each other.

Porsche have a central database from a certain year (not sure when 2000 & something?). So an OPC could (not sure they would!) look it up and pull some records but you just get a list of very basic info from which you might be able to identify certain services and allow cross check against stamps in service book. I managed to get it done on a car I owned.

Outside of OPC network some specialists can be helpful if you know it has been serviced with them but you need to give them dates/job numbers.

Data protection means they are unlikely to divulge much detail e.g. you might find out major/minor services but you won't get invoices with previous owners names etc.

Thank you for the responses, yes Porsche HQ have a central database, but will only share with the owner on the V5.
