I know that some members have links with TVR, but do TVR ever take a look at the threads posted on these pages for market research? Having just been reading the "New Stone Chip Guard Technology" topic, it occurs to me that surely some of this feedback from the people who buy the cars must be of interest / use? There has been loads of discussion on what I would consider to be very important issues eg The Tamora when it came out - some people loved it some hated it - would our comments have any sway on the future shape of TVR's.....or not even the slightest?!?!? (This is just one example and not an invite to reopen that great debate! )

Market research and customer feedback are not subjects TVR seem to bother with. I can forgive them the research, because if they screw up it's they who lose, but omitting the second is very bad practice - as it's us who lose.

Some do. I've heard others at TVR just dismiss this forum as nonsense and not worth bothering to read.

I agree, we all talk shit. Fact is thought that if you look through the owners profiles on here you'll find a lot of TVR drivers many of whom do quite well in their chosen areas. I'd say that although there is a lot of drivel on here (yes I know I'm hardly one for being sensible) there are many valid points..
If TVR dismiss it as rubbish then it is their loss, unfortunately in the long term it'll be ours as well.

Did they not meet up with some people from the Tuscan email list? anything come of it? (A new version of a Tuscan with a connection to egroups:-)).

I'm sure some of what's posted here gets back to TVR, as member Lee J works there as does Gaffer's dad (who I've known for 20 years!). Whether or not some of the more interesting stuff is used for market research is anyone's guess.

Blimey, that's worrying. This is the biggest free source of customer feedback for TVRs there is and it's basically costing the factory nowt.

I think you sell this site short Ted if you think they don't pay that much attention ... it's just it takes a long time for the feedback to become reality!

They do pay attention. Dad always asks about whats being said. He dosent have access to a PC so I print off threads and post them up to him.

So they do know about this site and do listen....well sometimes.

I actually had a couple of e-mails from one of the Tamora's designers - so be sure, they are watching!

I recall reading a Clarkson article on the Tamora sort of proving TVR didn't do market research... it went along the lines of:

Having cornered the market for stupidly powered affordable 2 seaters with the Griff, Chim and Tuscan... they set out to design another stupidly powered affordable 2 seater...

Maybe market research would only lead them down a path of not doing what they do best, in order to acheive a marginal increase in profit... maybe PW is a happy chappie?

Blimey

I suppose those 'downstairs' have to make do with chalk and blackboard, before graduating onto pencil and paper!

Those upstairs probably look out of the window at the horizon, worrying about people falling off the edge of the flat earth saying "there be dragons over there".
How do they mange to make such wonderful cars.

What I want to know is who's got the telephone and do they know how to use it yet.
