It sure does. Wife and kids at mother in laws having fish and chips for tea. Idiot boy here forgot to check on heating oil level. Ran out last night. House is rather cold. To help with her annoyance at me, wife mentioned the lack of Valentines gift for her.
Fell into the fatal trap of saying ‘do you want anything for Valentines day?’

‘No, don’t worry about it’

So I didn’t.

When will I learn?

An understandable oversight - easily correctable in the medium term - but cold this evening. Although I'll bet you have fan-heaters, a gas fire and so on and could warm the house if need be!

She brings this up two weeks after the fact? Female tactics - don't rise to it. She's annoyed. Therefore she's annoyed at everything and everyone not just you and the situation - pah! - ignore it.

Deah oh dear. You need to attend "Females 101" I think! Did this once myself....NEVER AGAIN! So I sympathise...

Have yer wine and heat the house up with SOMETHING! Go buy a space heater if you have to!

Judgemental women aren't worth the grief. Get rid and start again. Next time give them an IQ test.

Don't fall into the trap:
M "Whats the matter darling?"
F"Nothing"
M"Oh, ok then?"

Only to be mauled later on for "you have no idea how I feel do you?"

Fascinating creatures aren't they ? Love 'em though

Ah you see. When I started going out with the current GF I said. " I dont play mind games so dont bother".

Whenever she says "Fine" or "Nothing" I just go "Remember what I said when we started going out?....Either say whats up or accept it."
