Anyone using any of the cheaper options for breakdown cover on their wedge?

the top 3 seem to be expensive these days especially for limited mileage cover and Green Flag don't even accept cars of the wedges age when I try a quote from them.

Who are you with and how much? only really looking for national recovery.

Cheers

I've been with the RAC for 25 years. About £120 per year for full family cover, any car, whether it's any of my 3 cars or the wifes, or as passengers.

PS Presume you meant breakdown?

I'm with AA. Family, Personal, home start, nationwide relay, old or new, car or van £240. Every year they try bumping the price much higher but a quick comparison on line, of like for like and a quick complaint call reduces the price to comparable level. Notice I say like for like as cheaper doesn't always give a full cover.

Im with Elephant insurance and i pay £460 pa for Fully comp cover..Agreed valuation of 5.5K..Unlimited miles..No garage..No second car...NNCB....Windscreen cover...Courtesy car..National breakdown recovery and international if i ask...I do have a £75 excess on the screen and £250 on accident repair....It could of been lower but then the premium is higher.

I used to have RAC cover but was paying £170 per year for full breakdown assist, Roadside assist ...Home start...Until i wanted them to transport me more than 10 miles to a garage from home...I had to pay £50 for the extra 2 miles...RAC.."Robbers And Cutthroats" ...I have a recovery guy who will pick me up 100 miles away for £50....

Lloyds Bank Premier Account includes full AA Homestart, National breakdown and recovery - any car that my wife or myself drive is covered. Account fee covers this as well as many other perks like travel insurance etc cost £100 per year on a joint account. I then negotiate a reduction on my TVR cover as I do not need it from them - works for me!

I suppose Beakdown could refer to the Wedge but yep I meant Breakdown redface

I am actually looking for just a cheaper recovery/roadside assistance cover as I am covered on works car for other journeys.

There seem to be others than the top 3 (AA, RAC, GF) that are quite a bit cheaper and wondered if anybody has any experience of them?

GEM everytime. Been with them for years, cheaper than the big ones, just as good.

Recovery from £66 PA.

With my bank account I pay a fee and get breakdown cover on all my cars, travel insurance, even phone cover plus all sorts of other bits n bobs

Have used the breakdown cover and it is great service

Most banks offer this......they call it a "lifestyle" product......ask your branch
