De-Icing Locks. It Might Just Work.

Having had to pour warm water over the door buttons a few times over the last few weeks I got to wondering what I'd do if I were frozen out somewhere I couldn't get the water.
Camping shops used to sell disposable hand warmers. These were packages containing (I think) charcoal and iron filings which, when mixed, gave off heat. Boots also used to sell gel pouches for warming babies milk bottles though these had the advantage of being reusable (plunge them into a pan of hot water then let them cool).
Nice idea if you remember not to leave these inside the car.

No. Providing the seals are good the water doesn't get in, it just heats the button and mechanism and a decent drive warms it all the way through anyway.
