If you search back about 10 years there were a number of threads on roll bars, their design, installation and other issues including the strength (or lack there of) of the windshield frame. I don't remember how many were added to street cars for the reason above but I do seem to remember pictures.
And IIRC, holes were cut in panels and the bars were welded to the frame so it would take a serious desire to go to the trouble of removing one plus it would be cheaper to chop one out in pieces than to remove intact if that is even possible.

I have never hear of anyone rolling a wedge on the road - what about the track Leigh?
I should imagine its pretty hard to do being so low to the centre of gravity, Although not impossible...However i believe the roll bar stiffens the whole car up...I guess if you think about how much of the mid-section of body chassis has ...Two plates that are similar to a cradle way of supporting...Putting a roll bar in would tie it all together nicely...Also if we ever do another Wedge photo shoot those with roll bars will be prioritised due to the sultry positions a beautiful model could pose on such a piece of structure....PLEASE NOTE NO SEXISM IS MEANT BY THIS COMMENT.....I just prefer sexy women....

Not the best idea on a road car unless you do a lot of track days.
Reason being if you have a crash without a helmet and hit your head on the bar it can do serious damage.
if you do fit one add lots of padding.
I respect your opinion Leigh.Reason being if you have a crash without a helmet and hit your head on the bar it can do serious damage.

I had one fitted to mine for:
- extra safety
- strengthening the chassis with extra cross tubes and tubes inside the car- I can open and close doors on a slope; the suspension does it job better
Also, I had the driver's floor lowered to reduce the risk of banging my head.
There had been predicted downside of extra resonance, often due to the fuel pump. With all the other noises, I do not notice.
Finally, it does detract from those who wish for originality.
