Hmmm.

Looks like quite a nice little town from what I've seen so far. Bit bland perhaps.

Not made it into Seattle yet however. No time.

To keep it motoring related, I have a Chevvy Monte Carlo. Which has what sounds like a V6.

Shame it doesn't go like it. It's possibly not a bad engine. It's just masked by a heavy body, a slush o matic box and wallowing suspension.

Perfectly suited to the US then.

And I think you can get 2 dead bodies in the boot.

Theres a mall, south of Redmond thats quite nice. I forget its name.

Theres also a lovely little place just west of Redmond on the North end of Lake Washington thats nice.

If you get the chance Belltown is a great place to visit. Axis on 1st is a cracking bar and good food too, open kitchen, very smart. Sit and spin on 4th is a laundrette with a bar in it which is entertaining. Saw Tori Amos in there in with a crowd of about 30. Then theres the Crocodile, the home of Grunge always good live music.

Its a cracking town and its a very tough choice between there and Vancouver, BC that I would rather leave Merry Old England for.

Redmond's OK, nothing to scream about, bit quiet.
Bellevue is nearby, lots of shops and that's where Mr Gates lives. Bit quiet.

Downtown Seattle, only 17 Miles away over Lake Washington, much more fun. Lots of restraunts and bars.

If you are ever in the area, let me know.

PS. It's not a big boot until you can get at least four bodies in it.

If you like Sushi - the best is in Issaquah - Sushiman, owner is ex-sumo and has his bouts on video around the walls - careful if you shake his hand he has a grip like a molewrench.

I'd recommend Snoqualmie Falls 30 minutes out on I-90 but this winter's drought will have reduced the flow. The hotel there Salish Lodge is however a superb place to drink, eat and sleep.

I work for a company in Snoqualmie and have been there about 50 times over the past 5 years so the area's pretty familiar to me.

Cab from Redmond to Seattle downtown will be around 30 bucks.

Get on a ferry over to the islands if you have a chance

Bellevue is nice, My office is there. I will be heading out there in March.

It not too far from the Boeing factory.

Bill Gates land, I think he has a house on the edge of lake Washington.

Yup, Bill lives in Medina. Right on the edge of Lake Washington.

Cabs, not too bad. Taxi from the Eastside to Downtown is about $30. Space Needle is worht going up as well, I am am member of the Space Needle if you want to pop up.

Turned into a R&B club about a year ago, now it's closed.

Yup that's it. Funniest thing is that it barely has aenough power to spin the front wheels. If had some good tyres instead of those stupid all weather tyres, it probably would not spin them at all.

Since someone is forcing you to drive a Monte Carlo, it's too bad you didn't get the 3.8l V6 Supercharged variant. Good for 240hp and about 280lb/feet of torque.

Edited to add: They are upgrading the Monte somewhat the end of '05. They are cramming a small block 5.3litre V8 under the hood. I'm reliably informed, however, that it will still corner about as well as a fully laden oil tanker.

The Monte amuses me. Climate, CD, power everything and no ABS.

Over servo'd brakes, tyres that Avis expect 50K from and wet roads mean I keep locking wheels on white lines....

They wanted to give me a Chevvy Classic. I broke the last one in 3 days.

That certainly is one advantage, no grip, but they will last 50K miles. Personally I would prefer some more grip.

Yup, power everything, but no ABS. Where is the logic in that? At least it is just a rental and you haven't bought it.
