Fitting preamp to classic car

Not sure if this is the correct place to post but, looking to fit a preamp with 3.5mm auxiliary into the MG as a head unit is practically redundant. There are thousands of cheepo options on ebay but has anyone got any recommendations from experience. Will be powering two door speakers.
