After looking around on the web i keep getting mixed information.

If you drink from say 10am-8pm, 10 pints of 4% lager. Roughly 20 units at a steady pace.

Are you safe to drive from 20 hours after you start drinking or when you finish drinking?

Im not planning on doing this its just something ive never been able to get my head around, this is providing the person processes a unit an hour which is the average.

Some calculators say to wait 20 hours after your last drink, but that seems way way overcautious to me.

They probably are as the last thing they want is someone failing a test and blaming them.

On the other hand being overly cautious with something like this is probably not a bad idea

I know but im pretty confident that you dont have to wait 20 hours after you stop drinking if you have been drinking over 10 hours

Yeah its all very generic. I did this DNA test thing last year. One thing they test is some people have a gene activated which opens some other path way in the body which means they process alcohol more quickly that others. Which explains why some people are light weights and others can drink loads.

I have this gene and before quitting for good use to be able put away a lot. Downside is it creates a load of nasty chemicals in the body.

When they calculate when it will be out of your system, is that also the time when your hangover should be relatively over, and is it the point your breath starts smelling of alcohol.

Dunno, the amount I used to drink and now I am mid thirties my hangovers would last for days.
