Hi all, does anyone have any experience of Designtek?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Primary-Exhaust-Muffler-...

or these guys?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/111983324839?_trksid=p20...

I'm aware that Sharkwerks' system has been discussed extensively here, I'm just looking at alternatives. I can't imagine (although happy to be educated otherwise) that there is a material difference in results between any of these systems.

Leaning towards Designtek

Have a look at Haywood and scott, well respected company and much cheaper than sharkwerks... English too. had one on a 997.2 GT3.. sounded great.

So Chappa what did you do in the end, like the suggestion Fish! I am leaning on the H & S system now myself.

I never had it done in the end. Was worried about voiding warranty.

I had a bad experience with H&S in 2006/7 on a Mercedes 500E. I think the fit, finish and customer service was very poor

If I was going to go bespoke in the UK, I would be calling demand engineering. They did the pipes on a Ducati and it was really top end work.

Sharkwerks feels over priced to me but a lot of people rave about it.

Let us know what you do

Ahh interesting! I guess it's all subjective on the noise side of things but build quality is important to me. There's lots of videos on utube and threads on here but was interested in the H&S and potential equivalent for the price but I'll be honest the fabspeed and sharkwerk do sound more raspy

No problem with my H&S bought about 3 yrs ago... If I put one on the new GT3 it will probably be H&S too although it only appears the 997 were quiet..

Well after a lot of youtubing and chatting to Chris at ABPmotorsport, I've now ordered a sharkwerks bypass with tips from ABP. Can't wait to get it fitted and hear it in person. The car sounds stunning over 5.5k revs up to the red line but don't get the chance to wring its neck that often so hopefully now it will be a brilliant soundtrack even pottering about the 30mph zones biggrin

Well chaps finally got my sharkwerks exhaust fitter today! Bought it from ABPMotorsport and dealt with Rich and Chris who were really brilliant to deal with.
The exhaust itself is superb quality, better than expected and then there is the noise!!!! F me it's awesome!! Transforms the car and driving experience and now my neighbours hate me even more hahahha
Can't recommend it enough on the 997.1gt3!

Same here, H&S on a GT3, welds were very poor, needed a lot of additional effort to get the thing to fit, sound imo wasn't great either, just noise rather than tone....

I fitted the Sharkwerks to my 911R and absolutely love it. I wouldn't consider anything else. It's nicely made and the noise is just pitched perfectly.

Awesome looking and sounding R you have! Not the colour I would think of first of all but I reckon looks maybe the best on the R, red with white stripes! The nuts!!!

Sharkwerks exhaust just rips up the sound waves and produces an amazing flat 6 bark! I used to love the tunnel in Thames Ditton, short but fun. It's now become addictively intoxicating I reckon I drove through it yesterday 8 times at 7-8k revs 😬😬😬😬
