Planning on going skiing in meribel / 4 valleys on the 19th -26th of march, does anyone know of any good accomodation hotel /chalet or apartment.

There are only two of us going (which sems to be an issue)and we will be out there anyway so package not an option.

Any ideas or web sites to try as I have just spent the last 2 hours looking for something and found next to nothing or rubbish accomodation !!!

not too fussed about price romantic holiday and all that

Help !!!!!

When I went a couple of years ago with a load of mates, we stayed in the Orion apparments in Meribel. They where pretty basic, but suited us at the time (i.e. cheap!). We booked independantly and not part of any package deal as one of the lads had a mate working out there at the time so we got a good price

Sounds like you're looking for something a little more upmarket though?

Don't forget that Courcherval 1850 and Val Thoren are only in the adjacent valleys and all three are linked (only 45 minutes (guess)) ski between valleys

La Tania is another option near meribel and part of the same area. The main website is www.latania.co.uk which has lots of contact information for accommodation companies and people, most of whom seem to be english.

I stayed there for several weeks last year and found accommodation with The Mountain Centre. www.themountaincentre.com/main.html Maybe a little too basic for you, plus of course in the wrong valley, but the guy I dealt with there was really helpful, so might be worth giving them a shout to ask if they know of anyone who is controlling apartments in Meribel.

Also worth putting something on the latania message board, and maybe also posting something on the Natives site, as someone who works there will probably know who to suggest (www.natives.co.uk)

By the way the guy who runs the latania site even mentions and links to Pistonheads www.latania.co.uk/photos/2004/SpeedCamera/index.htm His name is toffa and you could maybe email him to ask about accomm in Meribel.

Anyway, good luck with the holiday - enjoy the skiing.

Have you tried booking through the official Meribel website - they often have links through to local agencies who should speak english and tell you what is available.

Just come back from Les Arcs and booked mine directly from the website. Right on the slopes in Arc 2000, dead cheap and an alround painless experience....
and I dont speak a word of the lingo!!

If you wanted to go to Val D'isere providing it's not booked up, there's a top class chalet I can look up for you. If you want to give it a shot, email me.

Meribel - unbeatable IMO The last time I went was with Skiworld, and was very impressed. If you've not booked anywhere yet, they do some good late deals on their website at www.skiworld.ltd.uk
