Hi Guys, first post in this section so advance thank you's for any help and advice received.
Im spending next weekend giving my mothers 1984 white 911 carrera a proper clean up. the full works, clay bar, 3 stage polish, seal and wax.
The trim and tyres are all faded which is a simple fix as i have all the products needed to restore those to original condition. What im stuck on is the black metal trim pieces like the pillars and door handles. Im not sure if these were originally black gloss or black matt look. Also have any of you got any tips on what to use to clean them with? Im not looking to strip any paint so was thinking diluted All Purpose cleaner and/or a 1:4 IPA solution. that should clean up any dirt residue but as to treating them to restore the original look im a little stumped.

Surely trim gel would just make a greasy mess and paint sealant/wax wouldn't work as there will be no clear coat on those parts.

The whole car was resprayed about 5 years ago so i should be safe with a dual action polisher and medium abrasive polish but this black metal trim has me stumped. there's nothing worse than making the paint glow but not doing the surrounding trim justice..

As i say, any advice warmly welcomed.
Cheers
