If a 981 Boxster / Cayman owner could spare me a couple of minutes I'd be very grateful.

My niece and nephew had a nosey around my Cayman GTS at the weekend and afterwards I found a small rubber part in the passenger foot well. It definitely wasn't there beforehand (I'd recently cleaned the car inside and out) and so they must have knocked it off from somewhere. It seems to have come from the plastic lip along the top edge of the glove box, just underneath the cup holders. With the glove box open, I've re-attached it in the centre directly underneath the cup holder 'beverage' logo (pics below).

Could someone please check if they've got the same part, in the same or a different place? I know it's only a little thing, but my OCD is irritating me!

Cheers very much in advance.

Here's the part:

And the location I *think* it may have come from:

Cheers Shifty - maybe the part came from somewhere else then? It fits along the 'lip' of the glove box perfectly though.....

Nothing on my BGTS either. Looked all around the glovebox and under the dashboard. Bit of a mystery - could someone have fitted it to stop a rattle?

Or could it have been some kind of packing piece used when the car was transported that got missed so most of us don't have them?

It's a new car, so not something a previous owner fitted. I wondered about a packing piece too.

Thanks for the responses folks, it'll stay as a mystery then!

Most of the trims in the car have those buffers on the contact faces; they are rattle prevention measures, chances are it was dislodged at build and dropped into the footwell - if nothing is rattling then no harm done......

Cheers Pope, but I do seem to have developed a rattle in the glove box area. Maybe it wasn't the kids after all....

Could be the throttle bung from the 2.7. They're meant to take that out from the GTS so it goes faster.
