Acsa aspire 1800

A mate has recently purchased an Acsa aspire 1800.
Nice machine but it has one problem. In device manager it reports 2 processors.
Both identical Intel P4s.

His problem is he has a special program that he uses to read SD cards with his Technics keyboard. The program will not run. It reports that it is not compatible with duel processor machines.

Any ideas gratefully would be most welcome.

My friend had phoned Acer twice and the best they could come up with was to restore the system.
