Hi all,

Long story short, I've just returned to work after a few weeks away due to an ulcerated eyeball frown

During this period of sickness I had 3 days holiday booked. On my return one manager told me that those 3 days were now lost as I was on the sick. Is this allowed, can they take these 3 days holiday away from me even though technically I didn't use them, although I was not at work?

Cheers

Ask that manager to comment on this: https://www.gov.uk/taking-sick-leave

or indeed this: http://www.acas.org.uk/index.aspx?articleid=4264

verbal or in writing / email ?

if verbal check with HR/ payroll he hasn't failed to 'refund' you the holiday - if he has you can take it further

if written you have the option of going to his /her line manager with a legit complaint regardless of the situation with the refund of holiday days.
