Does anybody here do it? I have a colour map that I would like people to be able to order online via Paypal. The printer receives the order from Paypal and ships an A4/A3 colour copy, with lamination as an option. I think the majority of orders would come from the UK but some might be from overseas. I think a laminated map might sell for GBP5 and we would split Paypal proceeds.

Any interest?

Here's the map:

I have full rights etc.

I very much doubt you'll find a printers that would do this, they wouldn't stop production just print just one at a time for each order, they would need to print around 100 as a minimum in one go and then store them, then post them out. I think there would be very little in it for a printers to take this on.

Your best option would be to have a batch printed and delivered to yourself and you take care of posting them out when an order comes in.

As an example I can supply you 50x A3 Posters, 250gsm stock with Gloss lamination for £51.00 total delivered.

This ^^ For such a small amount of money it doesn't make sense to do this any other way.

All makes sense, thanks. I'm going to keep looking though because I really want this to be an affiliate-type income stream rather than sending out maps myself. I found one option on Google and am investigating that. Moonpig etc will print and deliver a unique A4 card for six pounds or so, I should be able to find somebody to do what I want for less.

I think maybe you should thinking of the production of the posters, and the fulfilment as two separate tasks. Maybe get a large batch printed and then get a fulfilment company to hold stock and ship them to customers on your request.

I'm not sure how much profit there would be at £5/each however once the printing cost (£1 ea?) and then postage and packaging costs (£2 ea?) and the fulfilment companies costs (£? ea) are taken into account...

I have a client who sells education dvds and uses http://www.j-e-m.com/ - not sure what their pricing is however.

Get a batch printed.
Find a student
Order notification goes to them
They get paid per item shipped
You get the gross income
Student notifies you when it's getting low (though you should know based on sales)
Order another batch to be delivered to student
repeat...

The simplest way is to do it yourself by ordering like said above however get the items inserted into envelopes, you to label and post as and when you get the orders in.

Doesnt sound like it will make you rich tho.

Good luck.

I'm going to try fulfilment by Amazon for one batch. It's a dry run for something else I want to try. Longer term having the maps bulk printed and posting them out myself will be the answer. At the moment though it's not practical for me to do it because I'm outside of the UK. It certainly won't make me rich, the map is viewed/downloaded about 100 times per day but about one in a thousand will probably buy. I'm interested to see though how much Amazon takes from selling them.

Thanks for the contact Jon, I've asked Lexual to print some and will contact your guy at a later stage.
