does anyone know how one might draw a non symmetrical nose for an aircraft (much like the one on the new dreamliner) ?

Presumably you mean a part that is symmetrical down a central plane, but not around an longitudinal axis?

You should be able to do this in Autocad. It's not the best program to be doing it in but I'm sure it's possible.

I don't have access to Autocad right at the mo but in the event of a reply shortage I'll happily look into it for you.

Do you want it as a 3D face/mesh or as a solid? It's certainly not the easiest of things ot do in Autocad as there is no loft command available. However it can be done by a mixture of rotated elements, extrusions etc. Really depends how complex shape and how detailed you need it to be.
Is it for manufacturing something from or just for presentation?
If it's just presentation work it would be quicker and easier done in 3D Studio or Viz.
For production I would go for Mechanical Desktop, Inventor, Solidworks or a number of other parametric modelling programs.

If you need any more help drop me an email through my profile and I'll see what I can do.

Solid preferably. It's just for presentation so doesn't need to be precise. Unfortunately because it's for university the variety of software i've got to choose from is limited so Autocad's about all i've got to play with

Autocad is rubbish for this sort of thing - can't believe it's the only they teach us here as well. We've only just managed to get Solidworks available to us.

Do you have the dimensions? I could have a go at producing something simple for you if you like.

Thanks for the offer frik but you don't need to bother. It's not really that important. I'll just try and get something vaguely resembling a nose and that'll have to do. Cheers
