Adding adverts etc to your website

Although I am well aware of the options here I wondered if anyone had actually done it themselves to earn revenue from their sites. Either Adsense or direct advertising. I am interested in how many visitors you had before you felt you were able to set this up or approach potential advertisers.

AdSense works well. I'd integrate it when you have around 10k sessions per month, and a good return for me is around £100/month per 10k sessions. It all depends on what content you have and which advertisers are willing to pay a good price for clicks to their related services, and how likely your visitors are to click ads.
