More Stealth Tax increases.....

Anyone else run their own company?
Found out today that instead of the annual charge for filling company accounts being £15, it is now........wait for it.........£30! 100% increase! Okay if you are HSBC but for us little guys this is a big increase.
Those nice Government types voted this thru in November last year and it came into affect on the 17th of January 2005.
You can fill electronically for £15 no idea how you pay £15 electronically but there is no way I am giving the HMG my credit card or bank details.

Many people submit their annual returns through their accountant-who are set up to file electronically

Yep. And I agree. This is my pet hate - the obscene Taxation in this country.
40% Income Tax
11% NI (+ employers NI)
30% Corp Tax
15% VAT on everything you buy.
£165 Car Tax
1%-4% Stamp Duty
40% Capital Gains Tax
40% Inheritance Tax (above £265k)
Varying local Rates
Obviously the above doesn't include things like petrol, alcahol, company car Tax and other "special" Taxes. And then of course, I get nothing in return. I need to buy private healthcare, private schooling and a private pension.
Meanwhile, Mr and Mrs Chav (and their kids) are having agreat time living on Government handouts and not doing a stroke of work or paying any Taxes. And I see no evidence that the situation is going to improve.

HarryW; you are just on the nail....so correct. you see that little red box he is holding up, the minister's red box, he had a special new one made when he became chancelor at a cost to you and i of £xxxx, the old one that had been used for years since before the war, was just not good enough for a new labour chancelor, a sign of things to come, you pay me, i'll spend it, ta very much.
oh, when it comes to political history, i hope someone sums up the 97-05 administration as they were, ineffective, spin over substance and incompetent in fiscal policy but we will be a decade in paying back all the borrowing.
