Guess he's moving on following his split from the wife.

£4.5 M to £3.45M in 3 1/2 tyears - 23% depreciation - is that good or bad for that type of yacht?

Always liked the idea of the Motor Yacht after watching a documentary about Eddie Irvine a few years back - better check the EuroMillions ticket tonight.

You can guarantee that he didn't pay retail for it. He tried to buy a Squadron 78 off me an demanded 30% off - needless to say we didn't do a deal!!

Wouldn't be surprised if it's on for what he paid and may make a small loss.

It all depends upon if he has used the boat, ie engine hours, and money spent on keeping the hull, drives and electrics in good order. Boats tend not to lose value like cars, but do require greater running costs due to the environment. Few people pay full 'sale' value on a boat unless bespoke and living in Monaco no tax!

I've often wondered, do the super rich / famous actually do these types of deals themselves? or do they send in some business manager / assistant to do it for them?

In that case it seems from the article I linked he was doing promotional work for Sunseeker, so almost certainly part of the contract negotiation/deal ? Same as Lauda/Hamilton with Bombardier.

Other than that one would assume that these companies have representatives that network in high society and deals emerge from those acquaintances rather than the VIP phoning the sales office out of the blue ?

The super-rich employ people to do the buying for them.
