Longines Servicing
Discussion
Hi Chaps,
My Longines Hydroconquest needs servicing.
However, I need to get hold of a good jeweler that can service it (in the South of England). I've been told by Goldsmiths and Ernest Jones that a service will take 6-8 weeks- but this is way too long for me.
Any one know of a good jewellers that can do a service while I wait or within a few days?? I'm prepared to travel.

i] Any decent watchmaker can service a Hydroconquest: its either an ETA 2824 or if its a Mk2, its an ETA 2892.
ii] Stop looking for somewhere that you can visit. Its a common mistake but very few people are close to the repairers that they need.
Id probably send mine to Joe at Anglesey Clock & Watch - Variomatic here.

Out of interest, do you send high-value watches to distant repairers? If so how do you insure them?ii] Stop looking for somewhere that you can visit. Its a common mistake but very few people are close to the repairers that they need.

+1 For Variomatic.ii] Stop looking for somewhere that you can visit. Its a common mistake but very few people are close to the repairers that they need.

OP - when you say it needs servicing, is that just based on time, or is there a problem with the watch?
Anyway, as above - probably much better value to use an independent like Anglesey Clock and Watch. I did.
