Does anyone have any feedback on carpet sets from CarHoods, as advertised on ebay for £415 for the full set?

How practical is fitting a set of carpets, or is it one of those jobs that is best left to the professionals and paying aprox £900 to get a professional to supply and fit carpets. This is the price quoted by a few suppliers for the job.

I bought my carpet set from Dc trim and fitted myself in about 3 full days. You need to remove the seats, hood, centre console and if you want the best finish seat belts also. Its time consuming more than anything but if you're methodical and note which parts overlap each other its not that terrible.

£900 is not bad considering the work involved but not all carpets sets are equal...DC's are good £450 but all sets require some trimming.

Hi Smokey, When l asked Paul at Richards coach trimming in Lincoln formally known as D2S how was it? He said getting the old carpet out and cleaning off the old glue was horrid as the man-hours alone in doing that was 2 full days !!!!

prices are certainly on the up for carpet retrim. I got Paul at D2S in Lincoln to refit mine and 4 years ago that cost £650!!!, plus £400 for a new rear only roof recover, and finally 2 new door cards in leather at £180 for the pair. he's moved up in the world now and so too his prices l reckon, but maybe worth a call as l see your Nottingham based so not far away?

Try GAry Creasey at http://www.hoodsandtrims.co.uk/ i have seen some of his work and was all top notch and id go as far to say the best id seen. i didnt end up having the Chim done due to personal reasons and having to sell the old girl to pay the ex off. However he did quote for work and was very reasonable, makes the carpets himself to fit which gives you a far better finish as the are bespoke to your car
