... and got a bit of a surprise.

I knew it had cost me a fair sum, but even I wasn't expecting the total to be quite so high.

The bills included tyres and brakes etc, but NOT petrol.
Big items were:
1) new short engine at 85K miles
2) LPG conversion + later update to sequential front end.
3) Full stainless sports exhaust inc sports cats.

Would anyone like to hazard a guess?

Are we including purchase price or just bills?

I'll open with 60k (bills only).

AJM wins.
Actual bills (not inc orig purchase price of £19,500) was £37,500! or £2,500 per annum.
I thought that was plenty, but I guess others have had worse experiences based on a £45K estimate!?

But are things like LPG conversion and stainless exhausts really "bills"? As opposed to upgrades?

Orig LPG (single point) = £2000
Update LPG (multi point)= £1200
Full Sports Exhaust = £1500
-----
£4700
=====
Some of the other "bills" could also have been considered upgrades, like renewal of internal pillar trims and new roof liner I suppose!?

Just curious was the £3,200 on LPG costs worth it versus just burning petrol ?! How many miles did it take to recoup ?

Thanks

Saved approx £40 per fill (80 litres)
Did approx 250 miles per fill.
£3200 / £40 = 80 fills to break even.
80 * 250 miles = 20,000 miles.
So,I broke even after two years and ran it for 15 (and did 160,000 miles). so made saving of approx 160,000/250 =640 fills at £40 each time = £25,600

Also, I know invite seem to be in the minority here, but the LPG was about the only thing that didn't go wrong!
