My kitchen somehow has become a mish mash of just rubbish utensils etc. I want to bin it all and start again.

Who makes good quality kitchen utensils, I've got the knives and pans sorted. I just want all the other stuff that goes along side it, like whisks, potato peelers, cutting boards, mixing bowls, all this type of stuff. As I know very little I want a brand that is good quality and does what it says on the tin. Not interested in cheap but is good bearing in mind the price, I just simply want good quality stuff that will last.

When we moved into our first place 5 years ago we got all that stuff from John Lewis - it's sill all going strong.

Its not to everyones taste but if you want functional stuff that will last try www.nisbets.co.uk

From a comfort perspective I like the OXO grip stuff.

I realise that this is a matter of personal taste, but I've got a fair bit of Joseph Joseph stuff (John Lewis has a good range), and it seems to be standing the test of time reasonably well. The designs are reasonably cohesive, so work well to cover most of the bases without looking like odds and sods. The only poor bit of design I spotted was the rubber handle on the fish-slice melting when left on the edge of a frying pan - operator error!

Joseph Joseph as above. We've got a whole set of utinsils which get used everyday and they are great.

Get a potato ricer. Much better than a masher.
