Firstly, is the TTgo software just as good as the ipaq version I played with.. postcode entry etc. ?

Secondly, how up to date is the speed trap database.. presumably not as good as the paid-for one from Blackspot.com (Road Angel)

thanks!

AFAIK, TTGO is more like the palm version of the software, but contains just as much functionality..

As far as the db's are concerned, they are updated by people like you or I who add details to online databases... it's only as reliable as the data that's entered...

TTG is slightly different to the Palm version, but has the same basic functionality.

Postcode entry is another download, like the speed trap database. The database seems just as good as the Road Angel one (IMHO) as both are updated by keen drivers.

www.pocketgps.co.uk/ has the speed camera DB (just updated again!!) and links to the postcode POIs.

MAny thank to Phill for the loan ..its a great system & easy to use (though full postcodes would be handy).. however, does anyone else find that the system decides on some pretty lame routes? Often far further than necessary. It does give the option of alternative routes options.. but cant see that's much use if you dont know the way

There's new downloadable firmware coming out in April which will give you the option of "preferred types of road" among other things which should improve things greatly.
