Mine is one of the earlier S1's fitted with a crank arm wiper system rather than a cable system. The crank arm system has even less wiper blade'sweep' angle than the later system. That was alarmingly obvious driving back through Belgium!
In addition I noticed, rather disconcertingly eek, that on full speed wipers the speedo was moving up and down slightly in time with the wipers!! Now I dont think that is supposed to happen biggrin and I presume the crank arm is just touching the speedo casing. That might not be good for long?!
I also noticed that the wiper spindle on the later cars comes out at a steeper angle, more square to the screen than on the older S1. Which might explain why the spindle mounting keeps trying to twist itself out of the bodywork.
All in all I reckon TVR dropped the crank arm for good reasons wink
The issue for me is whether I can get hold of a complete later system from a broken car and retro fit it to my S1?
Any chance anyone has one they would sell me?

That is a good link thanks. I wonder if there is an S owner with theirs off at the moment who could get in contact and give me a bit more info. Getting a sweep of more than 90 degrees would be good!

I do know the S system uses two different ratio wheelbox's and, I pretty sure one is a bit odd-ball, not the 32 or 40 mentioned by SVC?

David Gerald/Classic World Racing broke an S series a little while ago, may still have the wiper gubbins?

Hi, just for reference.
SVC will cut & flare the ends of Bundy tubing, but they won't bend it for you.

Hi Mike, I presume that means the later S's have different sweep angles at each side? I did think about increasing the crank arm length on my drivers side but as it already appears to hit the speedo casing that doesnt appear to be an option. Hmm, wonder what would happen if I used an adjustable arm at the motor???? Such a b.....r to get at it to experiment.
