I heard a guy pronounce Veuve Clicquot as "Vwe-vay Clee-cot" once. I was so appalled my monocle fell out.

Terrible. People just don't think of the long terms effects their diction can have.

Slightly serious question as I see these threads occur quite often. If people are so erudite and sophisticated as to be appalled at mid-pronounciations like this, just what exactly are you doing and where, to be in a position to hear this in the first instance?

There's an old saying my mother used to use.

If you can't type anything properly, don't type anything at all.

Or words to that effect.

Excellent, I will ask for it to be added to the list, which I'm sure will be completed by 2026.

But I'm not a typist and the world has moved on.

Please, please, please forgive me for not spotting an S had been auto replaced by a D. I understand that it is truly heinous and terribly troubling to so many people but at the same time I feel it important to understand that I don't give a flying fk. And like most normal people I have a myriad more important things to concern myself over and to invest my time into. smile

Indeed, such as the fact that mispronunciation doesn't have a hyphen either.
