I've had intermittant issues with my imobiliser for the last year. A couple of times it's cut in whilst driving. Others when the cars been stopped. No fuel pump, no starter.

Fix has always been to disconnect the battery for approx 30 secs then reattach.

Yesterday, it's refused to start, even leaving the battery disconnected all day. Unplugged the imobiliser, plugged back in again, nothing. It's definitely that as it's I can trace the wiring, check the signals etc.

So, please do not post how on here, but if anyone knows how I can bypass the immobiliser so I can get it in for it's MOT, service and new imobilser next week, can you let me know please via email.

Just an update on this. Went to work on it yesterday and the bloody thing worked, without any intervention from me, just left in the garage for 4 days.

So I think I need to check earthing points. Where's the earthing point for the rear electrics? I couldn't easily see anything.

I think it is behind the driver side rear seat or above the fuel tank.

Take the helmet holder out and take a look in.

Yeah was doing that yesterday, couldn't see anything obvious. Do you have to remove the rear parcel shelf or something to ease access?

Not from what I remember, I seem to remember finding it years ago when poking around in the back of an early Cerb when chasing electrical gremlins, fairly sure it is behind the back seat but it was probably 7 years ago.

A torch and mirror inside the helmet holler hole may help.

Found it. Mines in the boot, just by the fuel tank sender and the control boxes on top of the tank. Bolt goes through the bulkhead.
Earths good so it must just be the immobiliser playing up.

Or the ECU.

Have you checked that you are not getting an output from the immobile?

I thought mine had had its day but it turned out to the the connector on the ECU.

Yeah, all looks good, plus when it fails I have no power to the fuel pump, traced it all back to the immobiliser plug, which when I apply the correct signal, the fuel pump springs to life.

Previously it's been able to be reset by disconnecting the battery for 5 mins. It's also cut out/cut in on me when driving, which David at HF said was unusual, hence a whole weekend chasing connections and making sure everything is ok.

I'll get it swapped out first, seems the obvious thing at the moment.

Exactly the same as mine, put 12volt on the pump feed from the immobiliser and the pump worked.

No output from the ECU was the issue, if I took the immobiliser out of the equation I still had no pump, checked the fuel pump feed on the ECU wiring and no feed from the ECU, quick squirt with electro lube on the ECU connector and all was well.

Could some kind soul email an easy immobiliser bypass method?

Off on a eurotrip on Tuesday, not enough time to fix the bloody thing. My starter sometimes needs two or three lock/unlocks before it'll work.
