LinkedIn question
Discussion
I've recently created a LinkedIn page for myself. I did this because I knew the good work done in my department and by myself was about to become quite public.
My boss has received interest from head hunters, is there any tips / tricks to make me stand out more when people search?
I've filled in employment details and shared an update of the news.
Cheers.

Spend as much time on your LinkedIn profile as you should be doing on your CV; they're both highly effective marketing tools if done correctly and professionally. The detail should be similar on both; obviously LinkedIn has some additional features that you can exploit to your advantage that aren't available on a CV.

Photo. Without one your profile looks unfinished and possible not an actual person. I had huge increase in people approaching me (with job offers) after I had added a photo.
Hmm, I'm exceptionally ugly, can I use your picture?
t.Get a generic picture of a handsome chap off the Internet and use that. If anyone notices when you meet them, just say that was an old picture
