I'm just about to buy some renovo to sort out my hood, I think I might have read somewhere that someone tried it on their carpets...
Mine are looking a little faded in places and it would be nice to add freshen them up a little.

Cheers

They do a 'dry cleaner' spray that I used to clean up the hood before applying the colour renovator, don't see any reason why you couldn't use that on the carpets.

I must that I would not, as the Renevo did a great job on the roof, but it did make it a bit plastic looking as it acted a bit like a paint. If you realy want to try it, do a test on a small unseen bit and see what happens.

David,

I have used Renovo to spruce up my carpet. Gave it one coat to turn luvly mustard back into the blue it once was. Used a paint brush with a minimum of Renovo and just worked it in. Went from mustard to turquoise/blue - second coat would probably take it all the way.

When I tried this, the Renovo made all the carpet fibres stick together. When I brushed them to unstick them, the blue effect faded again.

What's the trick?

I used some dye form hobbycraft to make my gold carpets blue again.

Works a treat!

I went down to my local Timpsons (lock, key, shoe people) and purchased a can of suede colour restorer (an aerosol - difficult word to spell that....) to repair my nice new trainers which I had wrecked scrabbling around on the garage floor trying to extract the battery.

I found that this colour (blue) was also an exact match for the carpets and couldn't be easier to apply. I can't remember who makes it (and the can is in the garage and I am lazy) but its dead cheap and very effective. If you're carpet is blue. Or one of the other colours they do it in. Which I don't know.....

The Timpsons stuff worked really well. I now have blue carpets again!

The only problem is that I went through a spray can on just 2 panels (my carpets were well faded). I'm going to try the liquid brush on stuff that Timpsons also sell.

Thanks very much.
