guys/girls - advice required! I need to replace all the pads and discs on my beloved 996 (pre facelift model). The OPC @ Chiswick quoted me £210 and £240 for rear/front discs respectively and £250 for front & rear pads plus £160 for labour. Add on VAT and total cost is £822. This sounds bl**dy expensive to me given the prices i've seen for parts in GTPP. Can anyone recommend an independent porsche specialist nr London who i can trust to do just as good a job for less? Many thanks for your jelp chaps...

Try Tognola Engineering over in Datchet.

Just down the M4 from Chiswick.

To be honest, doing your brakes is a fairly simple job and any basic garage could do them - porsche brakes are especially easy as they are designed to be changed easily and quickly at the trackside. There are many diy guides on the web and if you have any basic spanner skills could do it yourself.

Parts- man suppliers on the web - you can buy genuine porsche discs at about £360 + VAT, or you could buy zimmerman (think this is the supplier to porsche) for about £100 cheaper. Pads will cost around £90 for a front pair, and £75 for rears if you go the original porsche route, or £50 fronts, £43 rears to get Textar (OEM supplier to porsche/brembo).

Speak to Craig or Peter at GT-One in Chertsey, good guys, only used them the once for a PPI on my C2 a few weeks ago, but very pleased with their "thoroughness"....
