A family member battling alcohol abuse has finally admitted that they need help by breaking down and calling me.
I called around and have found a place called Blue Skies in Farnham, Surrey, that would be willing to take her in for detox and rehab at short notice.
Taking her for a look tomorrow and a chat with the man in charge.
I felt I had to move fast to take control of the situation and make them feel that the decision was out of their hands and that they were being looked after.
Just would like to know if anyone on here has heard of Blue Skies and/or had the benefit of treatment there.

I dont know this facility but do know that its important to have a post rehab plan. The detox itself isn't anything too horrible tbh (quitting smoking was much harder for me), she will probably be given Librium or something similar in gradually smaller doses over the course of a week.I would recommend getting her to AA as soon as she is out. It provides a good support network of peers (particularly other woman) and groups are generally at least 50% female.Sometimes people think they can nip into rehab for a week and come out cured. Unfortunately this isn't how it works.
