Tasmin Trunk Striker
Discussion
Looking for a trunk latch striker for an '83 Tasmin convertible. Apparently the original one broke and someone "fixed" it. Man, I hope that wasn't done like that at the factory! Figured it was sourced from something else, but don't know what, if so.
If someone happens to have a spare TVR center cap for a 14" Momo, I'm looking for that too. Shippers lost one.

Those are quite rare.
I did make some replacements out of aluminum (see pics below) for one of the guys on here, but they took at lot longer than expected, plus depending if the wheels have been re power-coated, or not can affect the size. and being made of ali not plastic means they need to be more exact. so it's not a cheap process, but I can make some more as a last resort.

Don't know what the heck I'd do with a whole set of wheels and figured you probably wouldn't want to break them and sell caps etc.
Today though, I modified a center cap from a Crown Victoria with the mesh alloy wheels. I cut about an inch off the base and the diameter was close enough to the wheel center. I cut the retainer to decrease its diameter...totally unscientifically, then I used a Dremel cutoff wheel to make slots for the six ribs on the cap to fit into. Looking back, I should've just ground the ribs off and saved the trouble of making slots in the retainer. I didn't have any silver paint but I sanded the chrome giving it a machined look. Need to get a TVR center badge and paint, but it'll work for now.

I sized a TVR logo, Xeroxed it, laminated it and stuck on my center that was missing the logo. That temporary fix has worked for a number of years. While it doesn't stand close scrutiny, it's OK from a couple of feet. What size badge do you need, and it is solid behind the badge ??
