Advertised for sale on another site-does it belong to anyone on here? Might be interested but a bit wary of cars without a restored chassis.

Why? All pre cats will be 20+ years old and the outriggers are likely shot (as most 500's) with maybe a body lift required. When you do that you tend to want to do everything else so a £3k job becomes a £15k job.
No info about your previous cars so if you're in doubt a TVR isnt for you.

I think that car recently sold. I was enquiring about it and the seller said someone was putting a deposit on it I think.

This sort of thinking is one of the reasons I have decided to hang on to mine. When I last considered selling it, I had a load of emails from people enquiring, most that said: "As you haven't had a chassis restore, I'm prepared to offer you £X minus £4k to do the chassis."

One guy even tried to convince me that the car needed a body off restore, and an engine rebuild so he would be doing me a favour by offering me £3k.

I took the Griff out the other day after an oil change and a bit of work (more dash work to follow this weekend). And the grin was still there!

Rumbling down the inside lane at 70mph and I was happy as larry. Much more so than in the Z4. WHy sell when it owes me nothing. I'd raher sell the Z4, get a diesel box and use the rest on an outrigger replacement.

Got a '92 250 4ltr last September - spent 3.5k getting the mechanicals sorted, but chassis & outriggers very sound as been stored for many years with about 3k mileage for MOT's in the last 18 years (TopCats verified on outriggers).

Absolutely everything works on this car (now!)if I was to sell, then top dollar - add 3k of outriggers if you feel the need, point I'm making is some pre-cats are sound in original condition.

Get off the fence and grow a set, otherwise you'll always be moaning that you found a fiver, but wished it was a tenner.
