Genuine Question, Why Women Empowerment Means get Naked
Discussion
This week across different media platforms I have came across in a small/large way that if apparently a women feels empowered or glad to be a women it means getting her tits, ass, legs and everything out.
I genuinely don't understand why, I hope there are women and men on here that might be able to tell me why but it just confuses me.
For example men have issues too and so when they become comfortable or empowered I dont see them taking naked pics with their twinkies hanging out and posting it up on the wall and facebook and calling it empowerment...
In my opinion (note opinion) - If you felt empowered why feel the need to get naked?

Seriously though... I know nothing about it, but my understanding was:
1) Men are allowed to walk around with their man-boobs hanging out, so women should be too. I have no issue with this, in fact I would actively encourage it.
2) There are countries in the world where women are oppressed, and one of the ways that happens (to be honest an extremely mild problem compared with the actual physical abuse) is that they're forced/pressured to cover their entire body.... As a protest, they get naked. Again, I have no issue with this.
3) Apparently some people tell you you're disgusting if you breastfeed in public. I don't know, maybe it happens, I guess there are some weirdos about with poor impulse control. So as a protest, women are breastfeeding in ridiculous places to show that it's OK. Yeah, fair enough, feed your baby, nobody cares... Just maybe don't do it in a public swimming pool? As a general rule, if you're close enough to people that your baby's projectile vomit can reach them - then please don't breastfeed there unless you literally have no choice. However if you want to protest by getting your boobs out - go ahead. Squirt for freedom, or whatever.

Women need to feel attractive. They think that if they get their tits out and we look at them (the tits) then we must find them (the person) attractive and that makes them happy and fulfilled.
What they forget is we will look at any tits simply because they are tits regardless of the face. Mantelpiece & fire ....

I think its some sort of psycological need to 'take back' the female attributes that they get judged on (i.e. their body) and use it to get something for themselves (empowerment).
In reality apart from the 'free the nipple' stuff a lot of it is to do with the Kardashian effect IMHO. The most famous woman in the world has zero talent and is primarily famous for her looks/tits/ass/porn video etc so the very expensive media managers and consultants round her (and other like minded celebs) need the public to think all this is 'empowering'. Probably if it wasn't 'empowering' then it would be a bit more like 'cheap selling of body for attention'.
Personally doesn't bother me who wants to get naked, lets just be honest about why they're doing it.

Are you gay then?
If you look at the free the nipple campaign (that trended a lot last year,) there was a demonstration on Brighton beach last weekend where a load of women were campaigning for gender equality and to try and raise the issue of objectification. How successful they were about it is questionable, seeing as the tabloids chose to send photographers but pixelated the nipples in the reports.
The idea is, say you and the Mrs want to go swimming. The guy dons a pair of shorts, the woman covers up her fanny and her tits. The man doesnt. Say you're a Mum breastfeeding in public, someone takes offence at not seeing a boob, but the nipple. That, to the people who're demonstrating seems unfair.
That men cant breastfeed but can walk around shirtless is a different subject, but I think that's why getting semi or fully naked in support of a movement is seen as empowering
