Dental Implants
Discussion
My missus is planning to get a dental implant to replace one of her front teeth which she lost a couple of years ago after the tooth cracked.
Does anyone have experiences of getting one done? She has had a consultation and is in good order to get one fitted, cost will be around £1900 which seems about right I think?

I've had a few done over the years and they are all still there without any issues at all.
For me its preferable to getting a filling, First sign of toothache I get the tooth pulled and then have an implant 6 months later.
It helps that I live in Poland for half the year where implants are very reasonably priced, (Well half the UK price)
After years of having toothache, fillings which failed or root canals which failed i'm very impressed with how the implant process works.

I've got a couple, had them for 13 years now. Stronger than my proper teeth are!
No idea on cost, but what I would say is get a recommendation from people rather than go on price. No idea where in teh world you are, but I would happily recommend Andy Moore at Advance Dental in Chelmsford if you're anywhere near Essex. Best dentist I've ever seen bar none, and the entire surgery is staffed with beautiful women... I mean, talented professionals.

Spent most of my teenage years getting work done on my teeth; too few on the top, too many on the bottom. Ended up with 2 implants on the top row (either side of my two front teeth). Actual process/operation was easy as pie, but that was at the end of about 5 years of monthly dentist and orthodontist visits to tighten braces or have teeth removed. Implants have been faultless since; no issues what so ever.
Can't advise on cost unfortunately; it was all covered under my parent's insurance (lucky, I know).

Thanks for the replies, very useful.

Thanks for the recommendation, we are in SE London so doable, but would prefer somewhere closer! The place she went to is just down the road from us and is fairly new, but has a few positive reviews.Driller said:
