I guys I'm starting to look at gen 2 997 cab s's. What's the general consensus on finding a car with bs retrofitting a couple of options namely pse and sport chrono? I test drove a 981 booster at the weekend and I quite liked the noise and the way it shifted in manual on pdk, how does the 9o7's version compare?

Cheers

997 PDK is slower to change than the 981.

I retrofitted PSE for about £2500. Needed Sharkwerks bypass to really let the sound out.

In addition to pse? I like the idea of it being switchable as i dont want to ps off the neighbours. Is it much different in manual mode, i assume i can use the gear selector to override?

Yes the bypass replaces the third silencer. The switch still works, so you have a quiet mode for leaving in the morning.

I use mine in manual for much of my commute and at other times it depends on the roads. You can fit a paddle wheel.

I have a 997 GTS with a PSE....the exhaust note could definitely do with a little enhancing. I wouldn't necessarily go PSE, I'd look at some other third party options before going PSE and Sharwerks combined as that's certainly over £3k. Sharwerks website has before and after vids. Or if you want to hear a PSE car and live North London/Bucks/Herts you can listen to mine!

Thanks for the offer but I'm ooop north. I get the impression that not many have the sport button and quite a few have pse does that sound about right?

Also after talking to a dealer yesterday, o didn't realise nav was extra I just assumed the big screen included nav. Is that retrofitable?

You can retrofit nav but you'd be insane to do it. Several thousand pounds for something which is nowhere near as good as £100 Tom Tom. Spend it on the exhaust instead.

I've only seen one for sale with no Nav module. Most people spec it.

Cool is there an easy way to tell by pics (incase seller doesn't know) also I've been thinking of my must haves and wondered what the chances of the following are

Carrera 4s or s (4s preferred)
Cab
White black interior
Sport button
Pse
Universal audio interface
Nav module (high I guess)
Heated seats

You cannot retrofit sport chrono, you can retrofit sport and sport plus modes, had it done on mine well worth it, you cant fit the timer on the dash. Mine is a non PSE car and I fitted the Sharkwerks bypass, it suits my requirements, I can't justify £2500 for a bit of extra noise, now if it was improving performance that would be a different matter. Good luck with the search there is a car out there for you and you will love it.

Am i right in thinking that the universal audio interface is the option to play music from a usb stick?

This is very handy on the Sharkwerks website if you're thinking of tinkering with your 997
