Looking for a good RS4 Avant B7
Discussion
Make sure and do some research to ensure all of the known problems and pitfalls have been fixed previously.
There's plenty on the web, about things like the oil cooler, the brakes, the expensive suspension and the inlets coking up and blocking airflow/engine power.
The ones with everything covered and replaced, will typically be the more expensive ones.
They are nice to drive though, but getting on for 10years old now.

Yes, I have been reading up and once sorted they seem to be a good bet and shouldn't lose too much value.
I have looked at one, that looked good and was nice to drive, but it was at a dealer, with only the audi service stamps in the book and no evidence of other work being done, that and an uneasy feeling about the dealer made me walk.
I am sure that it is like buying a 911, better to get a good one than to spend on a fixing a neglected one.
Really low mileage ones are £29,000 which is starting to get close to the price for a 2012. i do like the manual gearbox which makes me think that a B7 is the way to go. I think that as i am new to the RS4 i will probably get any car inspected by a indy before buying.
Thanks
Robin

Nooooooo. I have a lovely RS4 Avant 2007, 51,000 miles that we could have come to a "swap" deal on. Not willing to sell it for outright cash. I was lucky to find mine at an Audi dealer late last year. If I was you I would start looking on RS246.com. It's a great owners website with well looked after cars.

Not really interests in projects. Even though the RS4 is our second car it is my wife's daily driver when she needs one. Good luck in your search, the B7 RS4 is a great car. I actually picked it over the B8!
Hi there the 964 is on the road, just a little scruffy. Let me know if you decide to sell.

Definitely register on rs246.com.
As noted above, great cars despite their age. But you are likely to see a lot of munters described as spot on.
I wouldn't worry too much about mileage. As long as they're well looked after they should give good service. Mine's on 85k miles or so now and still feels tight.
I think the B7 looks better than the B8. But if I were buying now I'd seriously consider a B8 or even a B8 S4...
