Looking at a pre-reg van through Ford on HP.
Van is 15,500 + Vat.
Vat + small deposit £5,000
Repayments over 4 yrs £362.40 or 3 years £458.47
Don't want lease as the mileage may be high.
Not sure wether to go with this or a Merc Vito on their offer of 0% HP but it's dearer at 18500 even with their deposit contribution, but the 0% put it nearly the same as the Ford after all.
The Ford deal reasonable or steep?

If I were you I'd be pushing for a better deal on the finance of the Ford - those figures are working back to about 7% flat / 13% APR roughly. (that's assuming £15,500 + VAT = total £18,600, less £5,000 - total to borrow £13,600)
While Mercedes are offering a better interest rate, it's usually in the absence of any meaningful discount on the vehicle (as they have to subsidise the 0% rate).

Have a look at the Trafic; 0% HP over 48m with a 20% deposit, 4 years warranty, RAC and servicing?
I did a Trafic Sport 120 SWB the other day; £4086.64 deposit, £340.55 per month over 48m.
Rented one of these for a few days. Not a bad van and pull well. Problem is the £20k new price compared to the £13.5k pre-reg price. I did a Trafic Sport 120 SWB the other day; £4086.64 deposit, £340.55 per month over 48m.

What would be realistic target rate for HP these days on a pre-reg commercial? While Mercedes are offering a better interest rate, it's usually in the absence of any meaningful discount on the vehicle (as they have to subsidise the 0% rate).

You'll find a pre-reg Business 90 or 115 for around £11k + VAT.
The 0% HP offer also includes 4 years/90,000 mile servicing.
