Jump start 2007 Vantage
Discussion
Hi all,
My 2007 Vantage started fine last weekend but seems totally dead today. The battery voltage seems to be 7v, and the car won't even unlock with the fob.
The car doesn't have a battery reset switch like the earlier ones seem to, and I can't trickle charge it with my CTEK. Does anyone know if I'll be able to safely jump start it from the engine bay terminals?
Thanks,
Nick

Probably a knackered battery - how old? I wouldn't jump start a modern car and would probably buy a new battery and take it from there. My 2007 Vantage started fine last weekend but seems totally dead today. The battery voltage seems to be 7v, and the car won't even unlock with the fob.

Couldn't find the age of the battery - but it took charge from a trickle charger. A breakdown guy used a battery pack to jump it, and it's been fine now after a half hour drive.
One thing I did note after a lot of trawling through old threads is that the pre-07 cars have a battery reset button, 07-onwards don't, and the 'reset' occurs when you put the key in the ignition. I'll update the thread if I have more problems, the battery itself looks like it's original.
